Katri Gelati interviewed by the Swedish Bar Association’s magazine
Katri Gelati, who leads our Firm's Swedish Desk, was recently featured in Advokatsamfundets Tidskrift, the official magazine of the Swedish Bar Association.
The interview focused on her professional experience as a lawyer in Italy, including the role of women in the legal profession, the main similarities and differences between the Italian and Swedish legal systems, and the cultural aspects that influence legal practice in the two countries.
Particular attention was dedicated to the Sargonia Dankha case, a cross-border criminal proceeding that attracted significant media attention in both Italy and Sweden. In this case, Katri Gelati supported the activities carried out in Italy through the examination of Swedish witnesses, the translation of legal documentation and the coordination of communications between the two jurisdictions, contributing to one of the most notable examples of judicial cooperation between Italy and Sweden in recent years.
The interview also highlighted her ongoing work in strengthening legal and business relations between the two countries. Since joining the Firm, Katri has contributed to the development of our Swedish Desk, which today benefits from established relationships with Swedish chambers of commerce and institutional counterparts, enabling the Firm to effectively assist Swedish companies, institutions and private clients with investments, commercial operations and legal matters in Italy, and to provide structured support to Swedish players active in the Italian market.
