Morri Rossetti launches the new “Excise Duties and Consumption Department”
Morri Rossetti has created the new Excise duties and Consumption Taxes Department, headed by the name partner of the Firm Dr. Davide Rossetti. The Team will also include two new Of Counsel members: Daniele Rizzo and Alberto Rizzo.
Drawing from his long experience as Tax Director of the Ufficio Tecnico di Finanza (Tax Office, now part of the Customs Agency), Daniele Rizzo has then become advisor in the field of excise duties and consumption taxes; this activity has strengthened his knowledge of the specific law and its application in each industrial sector.
Alberto Rizzo graduated in Engineering at the Politecnico of Milan and obtained an MBA at MIP. He hold important managerial roles and worked in the fields of Project Management, Operation Management and Supply Chain Management. He has an extensive experience in excise duties and consumption taxes and combines a managerial approach with the knowledge of the technical and industrial aspects.
“The decision to create an internal Department devoted to excise duties and consumption taxes stems from the growing needs of our Clients – said Davide Rossetti – “It is a complex, yet interesting field; we have found that, although many companies and sectors are concerned by these issues, one a small part of them is adequately structured and has the necessary specific competences. Unfortunately, the penalties for non-compliance are very high, not to say the criminal implications for managers. Also, if Clients do not know the regulations properly, they may not obtain the tax savings provided for by law.”
The Department will interact systematically with the other Departments of the Firm to ensure the integrated legal and tax consultancy which has always been a distinctive feature of Morri Rossetti.
In particular, the Department will work in synergy with the Tax Litigation Department, led by lawyer Fabrizio Pacchiarotti, with the Corporate Criminal Liability Department, headed by lawyer Francesco Rubino; the interaction with the Research Center, coordinated by Dr. Roberta De Pirro will allow the study of new regulations and more in general, the sharing of knowledge, as well as the organization of in-house courses.
