Morri Rossetti for A.C. Chievo Verona – “fake capital gains” case
Morri Rossetti has been part of the defence panel of A.C. Chievo Verona in the administrative proceeding unjustly filed by the Federal Prosecutor’s Office. The founding partner Stefano Morri has led the team with the support of Alberto Di Alberto (for the legal issues) and Mario Buzzelli (for the economic issues).
The Federal Prosecutor’s Office sued A.C. Chievo Verona for having executed transactions through which, according to Federal Prosecutor claim, some players may have been sold for inappropriate amounts in order to generate fictitious gains. Therefore, this practice would be supposed to be aimed at influencing economic results for reaching the league’s entry requirements.
It has to be noted that the Court accepted most of the defence thesis recognizing that the Federal Prosecutor’s Office wrongly calculated players’ values due to both logic mistakes in its analysis and significant misunderstanding of the economic data. Given the first instance sentence, A.C. Chievo Verona has decided to appeal.
